The Hunt, The Chase, The Vampire.

Eyes closed,

Heart racing,

Adrenaline rising,

Running footsteps,

The hunt is on.

I wait in the dark corner,

A dark ally way,

I wait for my prey to run my way,

I hear the heart beat,

I smell the sweat,

I feel their fear.

I smile,

Fangs flashing in the moonlight.

I open my eyes,

My prey dashes past

Not even seeing me,

I chase,

The chase is on.

I run after them,

Fangs bared,

The sound of their heart

Racing faster,

Making my thirst rise.

I pounce and pin then against

The nearest wall.

They scream just as my fangs

Pierce their soft flesh.

I drink,

And drink deep,

Taking every drop of their

Life from their veins,

Their heartbeat slows,

Their breathing comes to a stop.

I pull away,

A small trickle of blood running down

My chin.

I lick it off,

My feeding is down,

I drop my prey at my feet,

I walk away,

This is my life,

For I am known,

As the vampire.
